The movie begins in a mansion. A young girl named Mi (Molly for the dub), is reading a book about ancient Pokémon with her father. They talk about a Pokémon called Unown, that her father has been searching to find for a very long time. Mi also talks about her favorite ancient pokémon, Entei. Her father then begins to kid around with her, saying that he was Entei. Then they recieve an e-mail from one of the father's colleges, another professor named Skyler. He is called away to an ancient ruin (Ruins of Alph) to envestigate new evidence on the Unown.
Shortly after arriving, Mi's father disappears when he opens a strange box filled with blocks that are carved with Unown.
When Mi is told of her father's disappearance, of coasre she is greatly depressed. Her mother, another scientist, also disappeared awhile ago and now she was all alone. When no one is around, she opens the box of Unown blocks that had been brought to the house by Skyler. She discovers that they look like letters and begins spelling out her name, her mother's, and her father's. Then when she starts to cry, the blocks glow. A swirl of light fills the cieling and back at the Ruins of Alph, Unown appear. They come shooting into the room from the cieling portal surrounding Mi. Mi's butler and Skyler, come rushing into the room but are locked out as the room freezes over with crystal. As Mi watchs the pokémon fly around another form appears. 6' 11" with a mane of smoke, Entei forms from no where. Mi remembers that her father had said "If you like Entei so much, than I am Entei". Mi rushes to Entei, assuming he is the recreation of her father. Entei thinks to himself that if Mi wishes for him to be her father than he will be. At that moment, all of Greenville starts to freeze with glass.
Elsewhere. Ash meets a new trainer, a girl alittle older than himself. After a battle, which Ash wins of coarse(sheesh), the trainers travel to a nearby Pokémon Center to heal their Pokémon. There they hear about the freezing of Greenville and that the problem started from the mansion ontop of the hill.
Back in Pallet. Ash's Mom, Delia (I can't spell the US name but atleast she has one now! Her Jap name was Haneko) and Professor Oak have seen the Greenfield story on TV. Pro. Oak desides to go investigate, and Haneko goes because she's worried about Ash after seeing him on TV.
Well, skipping the talking stuff. Back up in the mansion. Mi tells Entei that she wants a mommy too. Entei replies with his repetive line, "If that is what you wish."
Entei dashes through the crystal land, and upon hitting grass it freezes. He arrives at the Pokémon Center, and to the shock of the others, puts Ash's Mom in a trans and kidnapps her. Now it's personal for Ash. Against Professor Oak's advise, he sets out for the tower. The girl trainer he had met, lends him her pokégear(which proves very helpful in that Oak calls to yell at Ash with it later). Going up the river, the trio of trainers(Ash, Misty, and Brock), get into the tower. Of coarse, Team Rock gets in also after their balloon is shot down by Entei. The trainers soon find that the mansion is more like Mi's fantasy world. Because of this, Mi has herself grow up to a trainer of around 13, and challenges Brock with imaginary pkmn. Ash and Misty continue on and soon Misty battles Mi, who has returned to her rightful age. Ash gets to the tops of the tower, and finds his Mom who is happy to see him. However, Mi and Entei wont let them leave. The whole thing results in Mi having a fit and the Unown going nuts. Team Rocket finds the Unown room and Meowth states, "It looks like alphabet soup with out the soup." (hold on, trying to recall movie). Ash gets in a fight with Entei over the pokémon being real or an illusion by the Unown. Ash then gets knocked off a cliff but is saved by Charizard! In a fierce and firey battle, Entei and Charizard go all out. Charizard finially hits the ground, but Mi stops Entei from killing Charizard. She starts to cry and Entei tell her he wont fight anymore. (roles eyes). However, the Unown have built up so much psycic energy that they areout of control. Entei tries to provide escape for everyone and they soon find themselves in the Unown room. Failing to get into through to the Unown to stop them, Entei tells Mi that if she belives in him, he can save them. Mi then drops her habit of calling Entei "Pappa" and yells that she believes in him. Pikachu and Charizard add there power and Entei breaks through and stops the Unown. After a teary goodbye, Entei leaves with the Unown.
Back at the Ruins of Alph. Mi's father is released from the viod he had been trapped in.
That's pretty much the end, guys. Charizard returns to Charicific vally, and Mi's dad comes home. One more thing, in the ending credit pictures, Mi's mother returns aswell (i dunno).
